A rare moment happened in Nantes, at Le Pannonica. We met Jaimie Branch, the Chicagoan trumpeter, after her explosive show defending her last record "Fly or Die II". (available on International Anthem, definitely one of the best label around)
We had a drink after her show, whiskey for her, beer for me. Backstage, we talked about who she is, her work, the musicians she plays with and the community behind International Anthem and Chicagoan scene. Inspiring words, laughs and above all, great music.
Thanks Jaimie and Scottie for making this happen. Thanks to the backstage aeration system for making the interview sounding a bit weird, but life is weird sometimes...
The second part of the show is our interview with a real prodigy, the British drummer and producer Moses Boyd. Also available here, and on every podcast platform.
